Hi everybody!

I've just installed iDeneb 1.5.1 (10.5.7) on my computer but i've got some post-installation problems:

Here my configuration:

- CPU: AMD X2 4200+

- MB: K9N Neo v2 (here, the specs:http://www.msicomputer.com/index.php?func=proddesc&maincat_no=1&prod_no=1585)

- HDD: Maxtor 80Go IDE

- HDD2: Barracuda 200Go SATA

- DVD-ROM LG IDE

- DVD-ROM LG SATA

- GC: Geforce 7600 Gs 256Mo

- RAM: 2Go (4x512mo)

In my install options, i used:

- Chameleon v2

- AppleSMBios 667 Mhz

- IOUSBFamilyFix (but it didn't work)

- PowerOFf Fixe OpenHaltRestart

- Kernel Voodoo

- Chipset AppleNforceATA

- Audio ACL888 (i also try ACL888 6ports patched by Taruga)

- Network nforce Ethernet

- Video: NVdarwin 256MB

But, i always have no sound problem and usb problem (except for my logitech keyboard & mouse kit :s)

Sometimes, when i restard, i also have a problem of sata disk detection and usb keyboard & mouse kit detection...

I don't know if i have to reinstall again and try different configuration or if i can install drivers post installation ? and if yes, which one do u suggest me ?

Download and install seatbelt.kext for your kernel.

SEATBELT

OR

Open Terminal & hit "uname -a" command, then go to /System/Library/Extensions" right-click on system.kext and let it display information. Compare the version of you Kernel and the system.kext - maybe there is a mismatch.

ok, i followed seatbelt tutorial taht you gave me

and i've this on system.kext display information:

System Resource Pseudoextension Apple Computer Inc, 9.6.0

and this with uname -a command:

9.6.0 Darwin Kernel Version 9.60: Sat mar 14 06:47:09

AnV XNU Kernel Release 1.4

so i think it's ok but i still have some kernel panic and usb detection problem...

do i have to try an other kernel ?

Hi,

Ok, i tried with iPC and i think i'm okay with kernel panic with my Network driver...

but, in iPC, there is no VoodooHDA driver for sound, so now, i havn't got sound anymore...

i tried ACL 883 which should match with my motherboard but it didn't work...so, is there a generic driver in iPC ?

and finally, i still have usb problem...but this time, i don't have my keyboard & mouse kit detected... i've to use a PS2 mouse...it could be because i choose ps2 fix?

regards,

ok, i found ACL883.mkpg and sound is working now! :)

i still have usb problem but iPC really seams to be more stable than other distrib that i tried before : no kernel panic for 2 hours ago.

i also discovered a problem with Finder preferences: It restarts when i try to acces to preferences. is there a fix for that?

regards,

romain.

Ok, i think my Hackintosh is 100% functional!

i fixed my usb problem: i tried a lot of fix but finally, i think it was legacy support in bios that i disabled which fixed my problem.

and Open/Halt/Restart fixed my shutdown problem.

Now i only need to ghost my HDD not to lose my configuration! :)

Thanks punk_zappa and thanks myself! hope my post could help somebody else...

ps: i'll edit this post with a tutorial later...
