Huttah
I'm trying to get Kalyway 10.5.1 to work with my PC. Specs are as follows: XFX 680i Motherboard XFX 8500GT Video Card IDE 40GB HDD (I have two other hard drives, but they're unplugged for the sake of i dont want to lose anything) 2GB of RAM Pentium D 2.66MHz IDE DVD-RAM drive SATA CD/DVD Drive So I've had some troubles with my Kalyway DVD. I started this morning after waking up and getting woke up. I unplugged my 500GB External HDD and my 320GB SATA Internal HDD, to ensure I lose nothing I need. I had a spare 40GB laying around from my previous XP installation, so I wiped it clean and got it ready. It started with booting problems. I was getting some weird error after it would boot from CD. Missing some .kext file, but i cannot remember what it was now. After hopelessly trying for a couple of hours, i shut off my computer and went and got something to eat. I came back 30 minutes later, turned on my PC again, and waited. Strangely enough, it seemed as though it was working. I was getting the icon that turned (/, |, \ loop). It was booting to the gray apple screen. But doing nothing? I saw videos on YouTube, and from what I saw i was supposed to type -v, but it wasnt giving me an opportunity. After various restarts, it finally let me. I start off with pressing f8 and typing -v. It says a buncha stuff on the screen and boots to UNIX, and a get a 'default' failure of some sort. Happened while loading drivers. So unfortunatley I had to restart. Looking back on some YouTube videos (i have an old iBook lying around that came much in handy), it seems people were typing more. So I tried -v -x -y cpus=1. It actually made it all the way to the install! It asked for my language, then it's preparing Mac OS X install! But, unfortunatley, it had some failure and could not continue. So I ask you now, with you seeing my system specs, and it making an obvious difference in what I typed when i press f8, what should I do? I'm not sure on how i should go about setting up my BIOS, i have not even messed with them. since I got this computer, around July. I know this is the right ISO, because I got it from kalyway myself (kinda anyway *COUGH*GOOGLESEARCH*COUGH*). So I ask for help. If anyone here knows how I should go about modifying my BIOS and setting up this acursed system (even though it seems I want it pretty bad lol) please help me.
