Ok, first off I am sorry if this has been asked. I have searched all over but havent found a solution for my probelm yet and I am just hoping someone who has had this problem may be able to help me out.

System:

Processor: Intel Celeron D 2.66 GHz / 256kb L2 Cache / 533mhz Front Side Bus

Motherboard: MSI PM8M-V / VIA® P4M800 Chipset + VIA® VT8237 Chipset (487 BGA)

MSI PM8M-V Link

Memory: 768mb DDR 400

Sound (On Board): AC'97 link controller integrated in VIA® VT8237 / Realtek ALC655 6-channel S/W audio codec

OS: OS X Leopard (10.5.2) ---> Update using Kalyway 10.5.2 hack

Problem:

After no success with iATKOS I successfully installed Kalyway Leopard 10.5.1.

I formatted the disk and partitioned it using the Disk Utility before install. Partition setting was set to GUID. I did not chose to add any of the patches at the time of the install, just the bootloader.

First boot everything loaded fine. There was not a single problem with video at all. Resolution was perfect and everything looked great. No tweaking needed.

The network card did not detect but worked fine after doing this VIA Rhine Patch

Audio did not work at all. I checked in the system profiler and there was no built in audio detected. I opened the Audio MIDI setting icon in the Utilities and tried to get things working through there. There was movement on the input volume when on stereo or mono, nothing else. The only option for output was line out. Both had moveable balance sliders but the volume sliders where grey and fixed at 0.

I applied the AppleAC97Audio.kext I found HERE

Opened Disk Utility and verified and repaired permissions and rebooted.

There was and still is no sound what so ever. It is driving me nuts because otherwise everything works amazing with little to no effort or changes. The sound on the other hand just does not seem to want to work.

If anyone has fixed this problem please help me out by posting what you did. I have a feeling I just missed something stupid but have gone in circles retracing my steps and redoing it a few times. If anyone can help end the madness that would be amazing.

Thanks
