jpoe Posted April 3, 2008 Share Posted April 3, 2008 I am attempting to install OS X 10.5 (Leopard) on my TC1100 Tablet PC. The processor is an Intel Pentium M 753 1.1 GHz (SSE2 right?). I have tried using Kalyways SSE2/SSE3 install DVD, but that hangs up (using -v)when it "can't count the number of files in /System/Library/StartupItems", because "no such file or directory exists. It just freezes there, no infinite reboot problems with this install, just freeze. Then I tried patching the kernel manually using BrazilMac's guide for patching the original leopard_105.dmg and then applied patches to make the kernel SSE2 only, using this guide http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...100#entry484180 That didn't work either. It goes into the infinite reboot problem that others have experienced. Neither of these methods have successfully loaded into the actual Leopard installation for me. One thing that I am worried about, is that my BIOS screen does not give me a lot of options, well, almost none. Others have posted that the BIOS setting need to be right for such an install to work, but I do not see where I can alter these options for my machine. I had Ubuntu 7.10, Vista, and XP tri booting on this tablet before, but I erased the entire disk to give Leopard full access in this tricky installation. What I mean is, I am not afraid of the command line and I really want to get Leopard running! Thanks in advance for any response.
