iATKOS V.10i installation hung on IBM T42

Hi gurus,

 

Tried installation iATKOS v.1.0i on the IBM 42....with -v option.

 

hung with this message....

 

MAC framework sucessfully initialized

using 5242 buffer headers and 4096 cluster IO buffer headers

Extension "com.apple.driver.ACPI_SMCPlatformPlugin" has immediate dependencies on both com.apple.kernel and com.apple.kpl component; use only one style.

 

iso image burned into a DVD+R. I am sure image is good.

 

Anyone to show me some pointers...thks

Hi Gordon - I'm using an IBM T42 aswell (2373 model) - iATKOS frooze the same place for me - try the Kalyway 10.5.1. (select SSE2 during the installation and NO Graphics card and networks adapter)

 

Be VERY patient with the installation and the first bootup - there are some 10 minuttes delays in the process.

 

You'll be happy to find that just about everything works on the T42 - the one outstanding issue I've got left is the Radeon Mobility 7500 which for some reason is detected as having 128 MB RAM causing the machine to crash whenever too much grx memory is used.

 

If you have the IBM a/b/g wifi mini-pci in your thinkpad take a look at this:

Remember to activate yor wifi with Fn + F5

thanks Callesen....i will try the Kalyway installation. Read the topic http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=78235 and it's quite an interesting read. Hopefully I do not need to go there...:)thks for your assistancegordoncallesen.....i have the 2373 as well... Now that's good news...
