snibling
Hi folks, Not sure if I'm in the right forum but, I'll ask anyway. Is it possible to install Windows XP32/64 after installing Kalyway Leopard 10.5.1+combo update 10.5.2? I currently have OS X running as a standalone install on my rig: Intel C2D E6700 ASUS P5E WS Pro Sapphire Radeon HD3870 (after graphics update + netkas Natit kext) ASUS SATA DVD burner 6 Gb RAM So far, most of the updates haven't caused havoc to my installation, except when I cold-boot, sometimes the resolution defaults to 1024x768. But after detecting the display, res goes back to 1280x1024. I pretty much followed standard installation methods posted on this site plus Netkas' instructions on the updates with very little problems. Thanks. ps. Sleep doesn't work before or after installing Netkas' new kernel. Doesn't matter for now, I don't use sleep anyway. It shouldn't be a problem there are a lot of guides here if you look through them. You will need to boot to a gparted cd and flag your windows partition as bootable before you install windows. After your'e done installing windows you should be able to boot back to the gparted cd and set the osx partition as bootable and you should be able to select OSX or Windows from the darwin boot loader. This may take a little more tweaking then this but you should find the answers here with a little searching. yamcha
Well I don't have Dual Boot, I do have XP on another hard drive, my alternative is I press F12 It opens up a Dialog for Boot Options (You can choose what drive to boot), and from there on I choose XP drive and done , that's def a good alternative imo, it doesn't take long or anything like that.. Anyway just my thoughts for you it may be different, I would check the manual I'm sure you have that option on ur P5E Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/95113-osx86-dual-boot-windows-xp-question/#findComment-678160 Share on other sites
