usmarinedelta
Okay so i had theproblem on install when i was installing that panicd when it tried to start the first cpu but i did what another person recomended and did the cpus=2 -v and i was able to install it fine. When i rebooted it went straight to the screen that tells me i need to reboot. I rebooted and instead typed in the same thing cpus=2 -v and it loaded into the OS fine with no problems i then loaded the rest of the drivers for my hardware. After that though i could not log in again as it kept showing that reboot screen and would not let me use the cpus=2 or -v command becuase right as darwin loaded it would go straight to that reboot screen. Im using the JAS 10.4.8 Intel/AMD sse2 sse3 and whatevers after that. My hardware is as follows AMD Athalon 64 x2 4200 MSI K9N Sli Platinum Nvida Chipset Nvidia 7600 graphics 2 gigs of ram Any suggestions on what i can do to fix this or maybe some patches that might help me out? Im thinking it might be that NV40 driver that comes with the cd? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/94944-reboot-screen/ Share on other sites
The Edge3000
So you have acctualy booted into the OS before? After the new drivers it doesn't give you the option to go to startup options in darwin? If you are unable to type in kernel flags, (I don't know why you wouldn't), maybe you should ersase the install, re-install, and when you boot into the os the first time, edit the boot options to always boot as cpus=2 http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.ph...he_boot_options If that doesn't work, it might be a problem with some of the new drivers. You should see if you can re-boot fine before installing the new drivers.
