OK, first to set out a few things: i am new to all of this, so treat me as a novice. I have searched for about a month now to try and find the answers to my problems and have had no luck, so here i am.

I am currently running 10.4.3 with the maxxuss patch and all is running fine, except from my graphics (nvidia) and my wireless (rt2500.) i have not built my pc, it is a new medion md8800 so if you need any more specifications then there is loads on the net or i will help as much as possible. The only thing that i can tell you at the moment is it is a i945p southbridge motherboard. Im going to install everest home edition so that i can get some more info if you need it, i should be able to tell you most things from there.

I am not too bothered about my graphics card not working properly, but without my wireless i have to keep switching to windows (on a seperate HD.) All i know about the wireless is that it shows up as a USB controller under OSX but thats all. it is a internal USB RT2500.

Any ideas how i get it to work? I have tried the replug patch, but that makes no difference. Please help me, I know you can, so far (apart from this) there has been nothing i cannot fix!

thankyou in advance.

i have heard on loads of forum posts that it is working for everyone but me!!!

a question for the people it is working for: does your card show up under the network section when you look at the mac details?

cheers again

I have a "supported" audio chipset and yet it doesn't work. I tried a "supported" wireless adapter and it was flakier than a box of Kellogg's.

The Darwin 8.01 project has compatible drivers for OS X. Usually the last resort is to check with that development community. They are open source and legal, even Apple hosts the source code base.

It's often a lot easier to get hardware support from an above-board computing project than a clandestine make-this-developer-pre-release OS work kinda thing.

You're lucky there's this bridge between the two where you can live on the happy side of the street :D

i thought that the rt2500 was just a chipset, so why cant i find out who made the card? i am going crazy with this!! any news from people that have this working? does it show up in the network section or under USB?

ps, MarkW: poor downloads is better than no conection! are u using the latest drivers?

i feel as if im the only one posting in my own thread! Can someone tell me how to get a save the information about my PC that OSX displays so that i can post it on here and hopefully get some more input. This is really doing my head in now.
