So I notice my battery is low on my Presario running OSX 10.4.3, so I go get my plug, the second I plug it in, the laptop just locks up; no error message, no "you dun fux up" in 50 different languages screen, just a lockup. So I try it again, this time unplugging, same problem. So I then tried booting with -x, that actually got it working, but if there are any suggestions on getting it to work in non safe boot mode, please do tell. Thanks in advance.

try using this:

it's intended to fix the battery life indicator.. it doesn't do that for me, but it fixed two other problems:

1: freeze when plugging in/unplugging

2: 10.4.5 wouldn't boot unplugged

I've used that, all it did for me was get my battery indicator working, which is a good thing. I can boot unplugged just fine, with or without the file, however.

I've attempted to upgrade to 10.4.5, which worked flawlessly, however the problem still arrises. Good to see someone with a simmilar problem though.

I just got around to doing the new security update, and now it's not freezing. It stopped freezing temporarily and for no apparent reason around a week ago, too, so I'm not keeping my hopes up...

Now when it's plugged in it just shows an 'X' on the battery meter, and when it's unplugged it shows 100% and stays there. Weird stuff.

Here's my batt.log:
