10kelvin Posted February 20, 2006 Share Posted February 20, 2006 my amd64 3500 sse2 only box will not log in to the desktop. my intel machine works completely, but the amd box is still lacking. anyone else having an issue with loginwindow just locking up on their amd sse2 hardware? I have disabled autologin and can get around in single mode, but mine just locks and will not continue past the successful login... Go back and redo the AMD enabler patcher in single user mode again. I think I made a typo and got the same error. 10.4.4 running on Winchester 3200+ (SSE2) now. 10kelvin Posted February 20, 2006 Author Share Posted February 20, 2006 I redid the patcher, it still locks, I think I am losing important files/error logs now every time it locks, 7 files are jettisoned during the following bootup. I think I am going to just carbon copy cloner my working intel box 80gig sata drive to the 80gig pata disk on the amd64 box and overlay the kernel and patcher files to the amd64 disk after that. This is crazy how it keeps locking up during a successful login.
