mister9 Posted March 14, 2008 Share Posted March 14, 2008 I am having trouble partitioning and formatting a new sata HD with the OS X 10.5.1 Disk Utility. I have tried: blank HD (new) - the disk utility timed out while trying to partition partitioning with Ubuntu Live CD (unformatted) - the disk utility timed out while trying to format partitioning with Ubuntu Live CD , formatted as ntfs - was able to select the partitioning, received error when install tried to copy files partitioning with Ubuntu Live CD , formatted as fat32 - disk utility was unable to list disks (hung) Here are my specs: ASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe AM2 NVIDIA nForce 570 SLI MCP ATX AMD Motherboard AMD Athlon 64 X2 4600+ Windsor 2.4GHz Socket AM2 65W Dual-Core Processor Western Digital Caviar SE16 500GB Hard Drive - 7200, 16MB, SATA-300 Any help would be greatly appriecated Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/93581-disk-utility-issue/ Share on other sites More sharing options...
