Hey Guys,

I used to be getting a "You need to reboot..." message when trying to boot off the OSX DVD. I've seen a few people seem to have this problem ...

I fixed this on my computer by replacing my cdrom IDE cable! Turns out that replacing the old 40 pin IDE cable with an 80 pin cable fixed the problem.

I have now reached the point of OSX saying it's successfully installed, but unfortunately, it still refuses to boot (I'd say this is another matter), but at least I'm much further along than before.

The problem I'm having now is that the machine either crashes as soon as it access the HDD (just after displaying the POST screen), or I get a small error about a partition error (depending on which partitioning system I used during install).

Anyway, anybody else have simple tips that can solve annoying issues like that grey screen of death?
