jimbo19
I have installed Kalyway 10.5.1 on my Asrock Conroe 945g DVI I have 2 sata drives one with windows XP the other MAC OSX , 75% of the time the mac os wont boot It says waiting for root drive because it thinks the ide chan is disabled , but its clearly not it just seems to be a timing issue Is there a fix for this ? Thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/91954-waiting-for-root-disc-75-of-time/ Share on other sites
jimbo19
This problem only occurs when using 2 sata drives , i.e. winxp and osx 10.5.1 If I use one sata (win xp) and IDE OSX 10.5.1 then it works completely fine ! I would really like to use both sata drives if possible and not have to use one IDE one SATA , has anyone got any ideas ??? Beerkex'd
I would ask in the thread, maybe someone has installed it on 10.5.1, you never know. If you're on a Kalyway 10.5.1 install, updating to 10.5.2 should be safe if you use the Kalyway updates. There's a "Kalyway 10.5.2 combo update" that updates the system, and a seperate "Kalyway 10.5.2 kernels" package that has a Vanilla kernel and a AMD/intel SSE3 kernel to choose from. Both are available at the usual dodgy places. After updating you might want to try one of macdotnubs AppleSMBIOS: http://my.macdotnub.info/content/view/19/26/ Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/91954-waiting-for-root-disc-75-of-time/#findComment-657835 Share on other sites
