goofy
almost everything runs fine, even my 800GT 512MB. I have vanilla 10.5.2 with graphics update and kext for GFX and sound, and maybe network. But i have one Problem, when patch my ICH9R with AppleAHCIPort.kext IOAHCIFamily.kext and IOATAFamily.kext, to change my drives to internal mode. I get the problem that at startup he delays with "ERROR: FireWire unable to determine security-mode; defaulting to full-secure". (showen after booting with -v option) after ca. 20 sec. he starts the system, but the delay is anoying. I really did not find anything here, sry, but everybody with enabled Firewire should have this Problem? The problem appears after i applied the above mentioned files, anything else runs fine. This problem is release nor version related, i always have the problem after i apply the ich9r patch. I have 2 choices 1. let it be and wait the 20secs. while startup and have the drives showed as internals or 2. i dont modify the kexts let the drives show as internals and dont have the startup delay problem. But what is the problem if i let my internal drives showen as externals execpt the icons? what is the better solution ? goofy
when i disable it the system starts up one time, also with a delay caused by another thing, but at the next start he wont boot anymore. and this is no solution cause i need firewire! Other chance is geting a PCI Card and disable onboard firewire, may it will work then? goofy
it is maybe not the firewire which causes the problem. But after i installed above kext, the system startup takes very long.
