Intel 945GPT with Duo 3.0 install problems with Kaly, iAtkos and TOH

I have been running JAS 10.4.6 on this machine for a while, and now set out to upgrade to Leo 10.5.2. I got a new harddrive (swappable), and copies of Kalyway 10.5.1, iAtkos 1.0iv2 and TOH RC2 ... tried all 3 and all 3 fail - ugh.

1) Kalyway tells me "install failed due to unknown error" in the installer screen at about 90% complete

2) iAtkos seems to go through but no matter what I try it will not boot from HD... a very brief message "error parsing plist" is the most I can get out of it. tried with pc_efi and stock kernel, as well as without.

3) ToH goes through, but will also not boot no matter what I try. Strangely enough, with the TOH DVD inserted, the iAtkos installation boots from HD when I restart the machine, even though DVD is first in boot order... huh? Have to unplug the hard drive then re-plug once TOH boot has started to get it to boot from DVD. Without the DVD, no luck.

 

I have tried various permutations of using MBR, GUID and Apple Partition, setting the boot flag, creating partitions with gparted or with diskutil... even tried to boot to the installed partition from gparted... to no avail.

 

This is an Intel 945GTP board with a Dual Intel 3 GHz CPU, 500GB (465 actual) WDS5000AAKS hard drive, latest BIOS v4092, HPET enabled, boot sector not write protected by BIOS... very stable with JAS 10.4.6.

Ehh... GPT ?? There is no GPT motherboard in Intel.

 

Maybe You mean GTP ....

 

GTP series is micro atx series from GNT full atx series.
