megavolkan
I've recently tried to restore my broken 10.5.2 installation from Time Machine. It successfully restored (at least reported that at end) but when i reboot the machine, it hanged-up after BIOS messages appeared. I can restore files from within working osx but full restore doesn't boot. Anyone succeessed so far?? wrathfulcoot
I tried doing a full restore on Kalyway 10.5.1 with C2D, GUID and EFI, but to no avail. As in your case, I could rescue individual files using Time Machine, but doing a full restore ruined my installation, even though it reported "success". Still, you won't hear any complaints from me! I've got a Mac on my PC Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/90828-time-machine-full-restore/#findComment-649642 Share on other sites
bigern1990
I got Leopard running on my Compaq C717NR yesterday. I let my dad play around with it, and he was connecting to our server with terminal...well he ended up doing something wrong and he killed my osx install. I was ok with it since I just got it working the day before and knew how to do it...however I had made a Time Machine backup before I used Kalyway's ComboUpdate, just incase something went wrong. So I connected my external drive again, booted the disc and it worked. Maybe it depends on hardware, possible fluke? I don't know, I haven't experienced a prob yet. Since im still a noob with this, is this something that is rarely working with other people?
