truetigger
I tried to replace kexts IOPPC and now on reboot i get kernal panic. I backed up the old ones, but dont know how to get into mac to replace them. The backed up kexts are in my documents folder! Any suggestions? philminatz
I have the exact same problem, I took out appleviaata.kext and i get panic on boot. Safe mode won't get me in. How can we get to a command prompt and copy the files back?! I have Kalyway, is there a way to do it from the install disk's command prompt? xen1
Boot with one of the install dvd's and open up a terminal. Look on the menu bar. philminatz
I got that part, but isn't that command prompt for the boot disk itself? I was unable to get to, for example, my user documents folder to move the files. -Thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/89889-how-replace-kexts-on-kernal-panic/#findComment-641655 Share on other sites
xen1
Once you get the terminal up, your drive should be in /Volumes For example, my leopard install is on a partition called LEOPARD, so I would find my install drive under /Volumes/LEOPARD Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/89889-how-replace-kexts-on-kernal-panic/#findComment-641658 Share on other sites
