Sparky2002B
Okay, so, I'm about to install Leopard and 10.5.2 update on my second Desktop (using iATKOS on my first, but had problems) which has an 8800GT. So, after installing 10.5.2, is it safe to use the Leopard Graphics Update for 8800GT drivers, or should I use NVInstaller from Scott Dangel's blog and install the kexts that way? kf_man
I have an 8800GT 512MB myself and I would recommend installing in the following order: *Install 10.5.1 from DVD *Install 10.5.2 Kalyway Update *Install 10.5.2 Kalyway Kernel Update (hacked or vanilla depending on your setup) *Install all Software Updates including the Graphics update *Use NVinstaller v.33 to install just the kext file (not the graphics update since you already had it) This process seems to work well for me, before I installed the kernel update, boot time was 3 minutes, but right after it was reduced to about 40 seconds (os boot only...the gray apple screen). My Setup: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Gigabyte GA-X38-DQ6 2GB PC6400 DDR2 XFX Geforce 8800GT 512MB 3ware 9650SE-4LPML RAID Card All hardware works perfectly with the proper kext files. -Kyle Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/88019-kalyway-1052-question/#findComment-633291 Share on other sites

All works fine for me except that shutdown doesnt work. Sleep and reboot works well.
