LiQuID134 Posted February 13, 2008 Share Posted February 13, 2008 ok i got a new drive here, formatted it with partition magic to fat32, but right now, when i boot up with iatkos dvd, it will load the white apple screen and then sit there with the circle spinning, and after a minute or 2, i get a little logo of a circle with a slash through it. i watched it start up with error messages visibile and when it hangs up, it says waiting for root device, what in the world do i do? im not computer illiterate, just kinda new to this whole thing. would be great to be led in the right direction. thanks!bump, im in a bind help!!! JayT311 Posted February 13, 2008 Share Posted February 13, 2008 I'll try to help ya but not that all knowing of this hackintosh stuff yet. I would suggest using GParted Live CD. Burn that ISO to a CD and run it. It will come in handy later in your installation. I would not format the drive to anything. Just patition whatever you have on there and leave it unformatted. you can use the disk utilities in the installation to setup the disk.
