Hey guys, totally confused here, so first I will list the issues, then the hardware ;)

Ok, so I downloaded kalyway 10.5.1 and burned it to a dvd (dvd-r cus it was all that I had). When I stick the disk in my computer it loads the boot loader and everything and I choose -v as a parameter, it then starts spitting out info and gets to a point where it lists off the firewire error and the horrible "still waiting for root device" message. I have looked into this a little bit but it seems like there are many different causes, so I was hoping if I list off my hardware, someone could give me some suggestions!

Oh, and how hard is this to setup? because I need my computer with minimal downtime and still need access to vista. So i was planning on installing it on a separate hard drive and just swapping them out to get vista or mac until I am fully transfered over but if it is pretty safe then I will just partition it.

And the hard drives I would be using are a 6gb IDE drive and a 250gb SATA drive. I also have an IDE dvd drive.
