docbot
Hey There I installed Ubuntu Studio on a seperate 60 GB harddrive that I'd like to get rid of and install OSX instead. I have a P4P 300 Deluxe motherboard with a P4 2.6 Ghz and not entirely sure if it's possible to install OSX with that motherboard and processor and not really sure how to get rid of ubuntu studio or grub.. would be very nice if someone could help me out a little. Synaesthesia
Just format your drive! Ubuntu gone! OSX86, It cetainly is possible!...You need to know if your processor is SSE2 or SSE3. Probably SSE2, but just check, use cpu-z, a free windows utility. I recommend you download Uphuck 1.4iR3, it's Tiger 10.4.9. Why? It runs on both SSE2 and SSE3. It's nice and small too, and it worked on my friend's pc with a 3ghz P4 and a P4m800 motherboard. The wiki HCL, (hardware compatibility list), is always a good resource. http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/HCL_10.4.8 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/86220-p4p-800-deluxe-p4-26-ghz-and-getting-rid-of-ubunto/#findComment-612248 Share on other sites
