Sn00zerman
Hello everybody, I'm lurking on this forum for some days, and I managed to install tiger onto an IBM netvista with an intel 10/100 networkcard, and I also managed to get the same tiger installed into VMWare ... So far, a good start if you ask me ;-) Now that I "played" a bit around with it, I'm setting up a "native" environment onto an IBM T30. The installation allways failed, until I removed 512 MB from the machine. (It installed perfectly with only 512 MB) Now I come to the part where I'm "stuck" ... I did go trough different threads on the forum, concerning wireless networkcards, replacing kext files in system/library/extensions etc ... At startup, I see the "TI 1520" message passing succesfully, and I also see a correct description in the "PC Cards"- section of the system profiler. (e.g. SMC2632W, vendor: SMC, Type: PC Card: Vendor ID: 342, DeviceID: 2) I do have a small notification icon, next to the digital clock, and if I remove my PCMCIA card, this icon disappears, and comes back when I re-insert my PCMCIA card. but, the menu that comes with this icon, stays "grayed", all I can do is "power off card". (alldough the correct name shows up) I tried with 3 different wifi cards: (with all the same results) - 3com 3CRPAG175 - SMC 2632W - Belkin F506020n It doesn't matter which card eventually stays in the laptop, the only thing that I want, is that it works ;-) Please, who can help me out with this problem ? I think I'm "missing" something. (I know how to configure wireless networks in windows, no problem for me, but it seems like I'm "missing" something to set SSID, encryptionkey etc ...) Thanks in advance, Kris Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/85710-belkin3comsmc-wireless-networkcard-please-help-me/ Share on other sites
