danguy
I was attempting to get networking in VMware here, and I was thinking of using SLIP. However, I dunno how to make it work. VMware can make named pipes (FIFOs) for serial ports, and I looked around for something that can serve SLIP to a named pipe, but since that is not really my area of expertise (I am a web developer), I have no idea what to search for. What I have found: ppp - http://ppp.samba.org/ Is there an option for this set of utilities to use named pipes? vmnet - http://packages.debian.org/unstable/utils/vmnet (ftp://ftp.xos.nl/pub/linux/vmnet/) Perhaps there is a way to direct named pipes to stdio for this one?
