First I fought with a Netgear MA111 v1 for weeks. - NO JOY

Then, I bought a Belkin 7050 USB - NO JOY.

Returned that and bought a D-Link (forget the model) - NO JOY.

So then I see that the Belkin 7001 uses a Broadcom. And I read other here using it within 10.4.1 with the patched AppleAirPort2.kext. Followed several instructions to the "T". - NO JOY.

So now I'm about to return my 3rd wireless adapter that is "Supposed" to work.

The only thing I can think of is these models come out with a working chipset for OSX then by the time I buy it they started shipping it with a different chipset! I don't know. Everywhere I read the Belkin 7001 only had 1 version. I could'nt find anything saying ok v1 has this, v2 has hat..etc Only found that the 7001 had a broadcom chipset. But 10.4.1 simply will not detect it even though the kext loads fine.

So I'm not sure what to do, I can't use it without wireless access. I'm about to spend $99 and buy the Xbox wireless adapter to use it as an ethernet bridge ;)

Who has bought cards from say Bestbuy, Circuit city or Staples within the last week or so that WORKS within OSX! I'm going to be taking back the Belkin 7001 soon unless anyone can tell my why OSX won't detect it.. would be nice to get it working but I spent hours doing everything I could find doing a search on the board :pirate2:

Edit : By the way, the only thing I can see on the card I just bought is Belkin F5D7001 version 1212. I have googled till I'm googled out and I cannot find chipset information for that.

I have a friend with the same card and spent a few hours trying to get his setup to work last night so I have some familiarity but not a lot of first hand experience. What I can tell you is that your chipset is 4306/4320 according to this thread http://forum.osx86project.org/index.php?sh...pic=4641&st=160 and you should be able to get the card to be recognized by doing the instructions posted on the 7th page by the poster Cheesecake. Once you do that modification you may have to edit /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/NetworkInterfaces.plist in the way specified by ohpossom on page six.

All in all that thread is very useful, especially the posts mentioned. My friend got the card to be recognized but had a bad os install that kept crashing. Good luck!

I followed the above information and links. I just used 4318 instead of 4320 when 4320 was said to be used.
