josealb
Hello, I just installed the Kalyway "distro" (after burning it twice) and it seemed to install flawlessly but when i try to boot it up i get the error "b0 error". It is installed on a separate HDD from the windows system and in a 50 Gb formatted partition. Do you know what the problem might be? PS: I just remembered i didnt reconfigure the bios.. gonna try that THX Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/84661-kalyway-installs-fine-doesnt-boot/ Share on other sites
ahemsa
I'm having the exact same problem on my laptop but it has a Dell bios so my configuration options are very limited. Please let me know what you find! Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/84661-kalyway-installs-fine-doesnt-boot/#findComment-601032 Share on other sites
josealb
Well I just reconfigured the BIOS and no difference from before. The error appears very quickly after trying to boot the OS. Could it be a compatibility problem with my MB or CPU? I didnt install the SSE patchMy PC configuration is the following:Intel Single Core 3.2 Ghz processorAsus Motherboard P5GD1 ProNvidia 8600 GT2x512 DDR RAM200GB SATA 2 HDD (Windows Installation)500GB SATA 2 HDD with 50 GB partition for the Leopard OS insallationBy the way windows doesn't seem to recognize the partition from the My PC menu, although i guess it's normal since it's mac formattedI'll keep you updated ahemsa don't worryAny advice? ThanksOK after some research i realized that my CPU isn't compatible with the Vanilla Kernel. What can I do now? PD:WTF happened to the format of my post? :/ PD2:It looks like I only need to set my partition active... I have a lot to learn about dual booting lol Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/84661-kalyway-installs-fine-doesnt-boot/#findComment-601072 Share on other sites

I have a lot to learn about dual booting lol Did setting the partition to active actually resolve your problem? Many users (like myself) had set the partition to active without luck, if anyone gets here and this was not a solution for them try my suggestions here: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?s=&...st&p=600136 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/84661-kalyway-installs-fine-doesnt-boot/#findComment-601141 Share on other sites
josealb
Thanks for the suggestions but I don't think they help anymore. I used a program named smart fdisk to first set the partition active (which didn't work) and then "repairing the MBR", which made the install move a step (forward?) and now i get the error "missing operating system". Do you know how i can solve that now? I'm still going to try your suggestions and let you know whether it worked. thanks!
