rollfaster
This board is awesome! I have OSx86 dual booting with XP after following the tips in this post: http://forum.osx86project.org/index.php?showtopic=7497 Worked perfectly! Boots super fast, sound works, now I just have to see if I can get my ethernet working (this post is from back in XP, it looks like it may not work). Here's what it worked on (with JaS 4.2b): AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ Asus A8N-SLI ATI x800 pciexpress nForce4 Ultra AC97 sound Maxtor 80GB IDE ATA (reserved for this) Sony DVD RW DRU-810A A wiki mod could add the new stuff (ATI card and Sony DVD drive) to the wiki if they want under 10.4.3 compatible hardware. Note to those struggling, keep at it, this board could get you there. Thanks to bdonkey for the above tip on DVD-less installation. RF. rollfaster
*update* iSight didn't work on mobo FWire or case FWire, but works with the following OSX compatible FW card: Adaptec Fireconnect PCI (AFW - 4300CS Kit, Rev available at CompUSA But, the cheapo network card I bought to solve the LAN problem didn't work: D-Link DFE-530TX+ Rev F1 The Rev F1 was the culprit here as the rev C1 is reported working on the wiki. I'll try another card tomorrow and report back. RF Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/8159-success-on-my-system/#findComment-50706 Share on other sites
coolbgdog
Im having that same problem except I dont have the iso anymore and its on a disc. I dont really want to get the iso again just to mount it. I get that same SAM I/O error. Dont know why is it doing that. I get a grey stop sign on the grey apple screen. Edit: Just ripped teh dvd into an iso and mounted it with vmware and tried it and now it told me to restart my computer. Im about to try booting in safe mode. Okay just did and it still has that message. Must be my image. It keeps telling me to restart. Metrogirl
Coolbgdog - is the iso correctly patched? Should work through the VMWare method if it is. Try checking the MD5s to make sure there's no issue there.
