I have a powermac g4 that my dad sent to me (in texas) from California.

He had switched out the original optical drive in it, with osx preloaded, and forgot to send the original drive with it. I'm wanting to clean install OSX on here but I can't with the aftermarket drive. I didn't know you had to have the original. :)

I was wondering if there was a crack or a way to turn that setting off to get past this problem? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Tell your dad to send you original disc. Simple as that...
