lebidou
Hello, I have a problem with bonjour and apple file sharing, it doesn't work automatically. I have to run netstat to make it works, but I have to do this each time I log in ! If anyone has a clue, you're welcome ! Specs: Fujitsu-Siemens Laptop SpeedStep kernel NIC : Realtek RTL8169 Thanx Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/76750-problem-with-bonjour/ Share on other sites
lebidou
Well, maybe I was not precise enough. So when I log in, I can only see the Windows Network. I have no iTunes Shared Libraries, no Bonjour features. If I run Bonjour Browser, it shows only my own services but not those from other computers. When I run netstat (either from Network Utility or Terminal) everything is ok. Is there a way to get this working without running netstat at each login ? rktr
lebidou, which network driver for your Realtek RTL8169 are you using? Wanna try RealtekR1000.kext from sourceforge. That is what I have learned Bonjour to work from the other thread. hope it works for you too. rktr Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/76750-problem-with-bonjour/#findComment-543056 Share on other sites
lebidou
I tried RealtekR1000.kext, but it doesn't change anything. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/76750-problem-with-bonjour/#findComment-543113 Share on other sites
rktr
ok.. then not much I can help you then. I don't have the same mobo as you do, but in overall, limiting the network speed to 10Mbps is much more stable in my rig. Try that just in case. system preference -> network -> advanced -> ethernet is where you can change the connection type. but I want to ask you one thing. you are saying that running netstat helps. but how are you running netstat command in the terminal? rktr Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/76750-problem-with-bonjour/#findComment-543123 Share on other sites
lebidou
will try limiting the connection one of this day. But maybe you've noticed this problem seems very rare. So I don't have much hope. And for netstat in terminal, just type netstat in a shell, you don't even need to log as super user. The command is in /usr/sbin I think. Anyway, thanx for your help (you're the only one who tried) ! Alwayon
For some reason, I believe this is not the fault of your H/W or setup. Leopard seems to have some issues with AFP and SMB share. I also have some AFP issue myself on GA-P35-DS4 (Realtek 8111B).... For my case, using RealtekR1000.kext almost solve my issue (still some small glitches). So, I run some test on Tiger (on the same H/W and same set of network drivers), everything run perfect ! Solution ? Since I keeps hearing about Leopard's Bonjour problem and even have some AFP/SMB issue on my wife's MacBook,.... I'm waiting for 10.5.2 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/76750-problem-with-bonjour/#findComment-543901 Share on other sites
zikman
I think it has to do with the modified powermanagement.bundle Replace it with the original one... Then post again and tell if the problem is solved! Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/76750-problem-with-bonjour/#findComment-544409 Share on other sites
qw3rty
I think I have the same problem. I can't see other itunes shares, but can connect to my hackintosh itunes share from another computer. Everything else seems to be working. I can connect to the smb and afp shares, on the same computers. I tried running netstat but it didn't do anything, I might be doing somthing wrong. I haven't tried the RealtekR1000.kext yet. I needed it for ethernet in 10.4, but the ethernet worked out of the box in 10.5, I'll try that later. My MB is a ga-p35-ds3p. edit: I installed RealtekR1000.kext and it fixed my iTunes problem.
