robotica
hello I have an Acer 5630 core 2 duo laptop its combatable with leopard I am nearly 100% sure going by the hardware guide. ok so I am wondering what’s the best way of getting leopard on there? I have an original leopard disc I also have a leopard upgrade disc and leopard installer on a GUID partition, all these are official mac discs/installs. i used to have a macbook hence all the about leopard and mac discs and know quite alot about macs and stuff. we have a G5 in the flat still with leopard installed on it. I also have access to a USB drive with NOTHING on it... so it can be formatted in whatever partition. ok so i have been reading about about how to do it and i am still really confused! maybe its just me but alot of the terms used are new to me if i try and boot the mac osx installer i get nothing ( cos its a PC right? ) also other tools at my disposal are Jas10.8 disc to boot into disc utility on the acer. not having much luck... i did install 10.8 on it briefly and it didn’t work after first reboot... something which i believe was an easy fix? so can you chaps help me get leopard on this laptop? i have read about but still unsure of the best way to proceed ( there is a few way right? ) edit/ also forgot to mention i have XP Pro already on the laptop, ive made an image of it to an external USB drive as backup in case everything where to go wrong.. ideally i would like to have both OS Installed... but if i had to choose... leopard would come out on top Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/76735-acer-5630-leopard-install-help-a-guy-out/ Share on other sites
