Coelacanth
Guys, I have seen a lot of instructions about the EFI but i just want to ask a real noob question...is it supposed to be done prior to installing Leopard? Coz i've been using the BrazilMac Leopard, and uses the BrazilMac Patch and i have no problem. I was curios about the EFI thing that's why i want to check it out. Up to this time, i have no luck or whatsoever in installing EFI. I am using an Intel 945GCR Mobo with Pentium D Proc, 2Gb RAM. NVidia GEForce 6200 LE (im on a budget) with 250Gb HDD (SATA), Built-in Audio is working (realtek, i suppose) and Intel Pro 100/VE with ID 0x10948086 (which i need to add on AppleIntel8255x.kext). I am using Leopard 10.5 at the moment using BrazilMac's patches. I tried hitting the F8 upon bootup but i can't replace AppleSMBIOS.kext (with error saying Read Only). I tried following one thread that i hit one day (instead of using BrazilMac's patch, remove AppleSMBIOS, copy dsmos, AppleSMBIOS and NVInject, chmod and chown and remove intelpower***.kext and running ./startup*** with bootv_5), but all i got is the Stop error upon bootup. I am begging everyone to give me a detailed (for dummies, like me!) instruction on installing with EFI support. I even followed one post with using the GUID instead of MBR and still no luck. I am getting to like Mac and i want to update to 10.5.1 but i can't do that coz i don't have the EFI installed on my machine. Please...please...please...those who are succesful in installing the 10.5.1 patch, please help a noob and Mac-convert like me.
