Oxygenet
Hi Everyone, Well my gateway machine hit the dust so bought a new PC - The ASRock Conroe1333-D667 Rev 1.0 with a Core 2 Duo E6600 and it is FAST. Anyway, I tried various OSX install DVD's - including one that worked on my old Toshiba Laptop and I get to the screen to enter -v and it brings up some text, but then when the screen refreshes - usually at a different resolution the computer restarts. I am using the built-in GM950 Graphics abd the mobo uses the Intel 82945G Express Chipset so don't know if that's not compatible? I have a 15gig IDE HD set as the master and the DVD rom as the slave, then on SATA Port 2 I have a 400 Gig SATA 3.0g/s HD running in IDE compatibility mode. Maybe I have something wrong in the BIOS? Any help / thoughts / ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated as if I can get this to work and I like OSX on this faster machine, i'm considering buying a real mac early next year. Thanks Chris Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/76386-asrock-conroe1333-d667-help-needed/ Share on other sites
Oxygenet
Well I now have it past this below problem, had to downgrade my BIOS to 1.00 or 1.10 (I opted for 1.10) and it even recognizes both CPU's - BUT now I have the following issue: IOatacontroller bus blocked (Or something like that) Any ideas? I have an SATA II drive connected with legacy support as an IDE drive on port 2 of the SATA controllers, I have an IDE 15gig drive connected with the onboard IDE interface and I have an external USB harddrive connected.
