Cirenj Posted January 24, 2006 Share Posted January 24, 2006 So far I have acquired the correct install image...patched it with JaS and burned it....when I boot to the DVD everthing goes fine until it says "Preparing for installation" ..Then an error comes up says there were errors and installation cannot continue...does anyone have any idea as to my problem... System Specs are as follows: Asus P4P800 Deluxe motherboard, i865p chipset Intel Pentium 4 3.2gHz (mmx,sse,sse2) DDR-SDRAM Dual Channel (1 gig) Its going to be installed on a Maxtor 20gb IDE drive...... Cirenj Posted January 25, 2006 Author Share Posted January 25, 2006 I just had an idea why it isnt working....could it be that my HD isnt formatted correctly....I figured if the installer recognized it then it would be OK to install it to....does anyone have any other idea's? _alex_ Posted January 25, 2006 Share Posted January 25, 2006 I think u might be right about the different hard disc formats causing trouble. I've found it seems to like fat32 best, doesn't seem to like unformatted. If you still can't boot try using the -s (single user) mode option to boot.
