bukira
Hi, I downloaded from bittorrent tiger-x86-flat.tar.gz, i then followed the instructions on this site, get as far as. dd bs=..... etc etc and it copies fine, creates 6gb partion on the second hard drive i then reboot, change the bios to boot from the second HD, and it boots into darwin i press a key to get the boot. options i have entered -x and -v and -s various times, but it caused the boot window "apple logon and revolving disc icon" to freeze. i checked my hardware and all seems to be compatable but the CPU it says needs the Maxxus patch. I went to the maxxus site, and downloaded the patch, it however says to patch the .iso, but my file is a .img which i canr convert, maxxus says to convert ur .dmg to an .iso, but mines a .img persuming them to be the same, i patch the .img with his patch, i did this on a mac and then also on a pc ,"2 different installs" the pc reboots fine into os x, and no longer hangs on the boot screen, but however doesnt go into the boot / loginwindow, it goes directly into the console login login: i tried root and password bovinity, i also tried deadmoo and bovinity, i then rebooted with -s and changed the pass to my own, but it still wont login, each time says incorrect login, the gui login window never starts neither does the bootup screen,..... help pls, i dont understand this as pc osx is all new and not as per mac installs i do configuration intel Pentium 4 Willamette intel chip motherboard geforce fx 5200 graphics Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/7527-help-newbie-to-installing-x86-on-pc/ Share on other sites

Metrogirl
Hi - I think you would be better off finding a newer image than Deadmoo. Although that one is a fair introduction there are too many things that don't work even when you've got it to install. Metrogirl
Hey Bukira -here you go: http://www.profit42.com/guides.php?id=1 We can't post links to the files directly but search on Google and add the words "Pirate Bay" to your search. If that's not a big enough hint I give up! :pirate2: Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/7527-help-newbie-to-installing-x86-on-pc/#findComment-50807 Share on other sites
