I have a near perfect setup running 10.4.10 at the moment but have tried to install Leopard a couple of times, I've read almost every thread available on the forums here but need some because I don't have the necessary expertise to understand everything I read.

My hardware is as follows

Badaxe2/Q6600

4 Gb Corsair Ram

Geforce 7600Gt

WD Raptor

3 Sata 500Gb Drives, Seagate I think

Ide DVD

I know there are heaps of people running Leopard on BADAXE2s so hope that someone will be able to help me using some more layman friendly terms.

As I said 10.4.10 all works great, sleep/wake/dual display/audio etc but I have only got as far as follows in installing Leopard.

I installed as follows and Leopard boots all Ok and runs as far as I can see very well but with limitations. I really want to install the PC_Efi so that the system can update with software updater.

Here's how far I've got, I install 10.4.8 first because TOH Leopard never boots for me when installed

1. Installed JAS 10.4.8 and at welcome screen rebooted and inserted TOH Leopard disk

2. Installed TOH Leopard without going into DiskUtility and rebooted.

3. Leopard will not Boot now but pressing F8 before Darwin bootloader and Using

-legacy -f boots fine

4. I edited the boot.plist and added the line -legacy in and it boots every time.

After Natits Dual installer everything works except Sleep and Wake (Audio is external USB with Edirol unit). Time machine works too.

What does the -legacy actually do?? Is it detramental to my systems performance. It seems OK to me so is it OK to leave it booting like this?

I am now trying to install the pc_efi_v51 but am getting no joy whatsoever so must be doing something wrong.

This is what I do

I have a USBFlashdrive labelled 'bootloader' with the pc_efi_v51 folder on it

1. I boot with JAS 10.4.8 to access Terminal

2 I unmount my disk (disk2s1)

3. i change directory cd /Volumes/bootloader/pc_efi_v50

4. Then I typed ./startupfiletool /dev/rdisk2s1 ./boot_v5

There are no errors given out in terminal and I remember it tells me 'Successful'. When I reboot it just panics every time. I don't have the knowledge to know what I've done wrong, I've only followed guides I've read here.

If I do get the pc_efi installed does that mean that I can indeed update with software updater or is it not that simple?

I have a downloaded all the Leopard Vanilla Kernel Kexts. Should I be doing something with these maybe?

I know there are some of you with similar setups to mine who have cracked it and I'd really appreciate some help.

OK So I've just tried onetracks method for installing efi and get a panic still.

I used 10.4.8 jas disc then TOH Leopard and all was great until the EFi Patch.

I followed it perfectly and got no errors in Terminal.

I am using pc_efi_v51 if this is the problem though.

I get a panic message at boot that says Kernel Trap at 0x001976bc

Any further help would be really appreciated
