twinkiestar
in windows XP, so used to windows + E to get to explorer window, what is the shortcut to open Finder window in OSX? if not one, how can I create one? the closet I can find is ctrl + D (switch to focus to the first item of dock, which is Finder), then press enter, this is still slower than just click the finder icon Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/7456-what-is-the-shortcut-to-finder/ Share on other sites
webtek23
I belive Apple + F opens a new finder window if finder is selected as the current application. So you could just click on the desktop then press apple + F. Not sure if its faster, but its another option Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/7456-what-is-the-shortcut-to-finder/#findComment-46518 Share on other sites

twinkiestar
Alt + F open finder in search modeAlt + N opens a new finder window Finder must be the active program for this to work. yeah, this won't work if I am using another program when I want to open a finder window to search for something... (just like you can do win + E in winXP anytime) btw. technobob, how did you config your 10.4.3 to make your t40 to run under 1400x1050? I have the same video card, but the best I can get is 1280x1024, and if I switch the hard drive to a newer t42 which uses ati 9600 128M, the 1400x1050 mode works fine.. ( I loaded the latest 10.4.4 driver) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/7456-what-is-the-shortcut-to-finder/#findComment-46530 Share on other sites
