Hey guys, I just ordered a more compatible processor and motherboard combo than what I had previously, and was wondering: should I use a clean disc image (and apply bare minimum patches) to install since the P4 630 should have all the requirements (SSE3, etc.), or should I just install a JaS patched image (4.2b, 8f1111a) with the SSE3->2 and whatnot installed?

I thought I saw a thread either here or on win2osx that said that the JaS patched image would default to using SSE3, and not the SSE3->2 if the processor used supported it, but I can't find that thread.

can anyone clear this up? Thanks!

After installing 10.4.3 Jas patched DVD "...You can replace

the kernel with the version with fewer patches after installation if you

wish. You can create your own kernel using maxxuss's patchfiles set in the Patches Directory "

So, you can patch the original kernel with CPUID patch only and give it a try.
