cwestpha Posted November 25, 2007 Share Posted November 25, 2007 I followed mac.nub's instructions on how to update to 10.4.11 and have found that everything save DMG mounting works after the update. As you could imagine this is a problem. I restored SMBIOS, Mach Kernel, and AppleACPI along with my NVIDIA and IO80211. Everything works except DMG mounting. I installed using mac.nub's 10.4.11 DVD Release 5. Is there a missing file I didnt transfer that I need to restore and if so which one and where would I find it in the directory structure? Thanks. It was about system.kext and kernel version not matching Try to replace your system.kext with another one, or try replacing your kernel Hope that helps Wen. I tried replacing the system.kext with the one from my install DVD that matched my kernel package. Killed my system totally (even getting to Single User mode). This time I am going to re-install everything and make a backup of my system.kext too and restore that. Hopefully that will work. Shame too, I had everything running and installed. I had 10.5.1 going too, but OpenGL didnt work, .mac syncing caused crashes, opening my iDisk killed finder, and backtomac didnt work well. I need 10.4.11 for Safari 3. Hope this will work this time.
