ExWindows
Ok, so, I am very interested in computers and am an above decent graphic designer. I am a teen and want an iMac. Yeah, not gonna happen unless I get a damned lucky scratch card ticket. I would have to wait til I have a job to afford an iMac, which would be after college, and ill be up my ass in debt until im like 30 so it wouldn't matter anyway. So, I was like, I KNOW, ILL MAKE MY OWN MAC YAY. And then I found out that because of the interon chip I can't install mac on my homebrew, and that pissed me off, so I did what I always do - find an online communit(ies)y and find the best illegal way to fix the problem! Anyway, so im planning on having Tiger at first, then once it's patched and all that I'm going to upgrade to tiger. Which leads me to Q. 1, once I get Tiger I can just use the Leopard DVD image to Upgrade, right? Cause I don't want to dual-boot. So, I'm making this kickass computer, and luckily, by selling this laptop, which recently has slowed down to the point of which I want to destroy it, and adding Christmas and my upcoming birthday money, I'll be able to afford this. So, these are my questions, other than Q.1 2) I can boot Tiger straight to my comp before I set up anything after its built (other than like, the obvious stuff), because I heard I HAVE to have Windows first. 3) If I install leopard from a LEGAL cd, and upgrade the ILLEGAL tiger with it, will iNinjas come and get me? Or do they not really track that. 4) Are all of the parts in the list below OS X compatible? 5) Any other imformation you think a noob might not know but i REALLY need to know, please tell me. I have already found torrents for all the images etc. Processor: AMD Athlon Dual Core 64 6400+ Dark Edition - $210 Motherboard: ASUS M2N32-SLI Deluxe Wireless Edition AM2 NVIDIA nForce 590 SLI MCP ATX - $170 Video Card : SAPPHIRE 100213 Radeon HD 2900GT 256MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported $170 Memory/RAM: G.SKILL 4GB(2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - $145 Hard Drive: Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 ST3250410AS 250GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s - $70 (yarps, 250gigs) Cooling Fan: Silent Blue Cold Cathode 120mm Fan - $15 Pc Case: RaidMax Ninja - $60 Power Supply: Sunbeam / CaseGears Black Steel 580W - $20 Floppy Drives (2 for my PC CASE): SAMSUNG Black 1.44MB 3.5" Internal Floppy Drive Model SFD321B/LBL1 - $12 (6 per) CD drives (2 For my pc case, theres actually 5 slots but i rly dont need 5 cd drives yet): ASUS Black 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-ROM ATAPI/E-IDE DVD-ROM Drive Model DVD-E616A3 - $30 (15 per) Keyboard and Mouse: Logitech Cordless Desktop EX110 967561-0403 Black 102 Normal Keys 12 Function Keys USB + PS/2 RF Wireless Standard Keyboard Mouse Included - $30 Anyway, thanks much.
