redyoo
Hi there!! I burned the install dvd to a DVD-R. Everything went just fine. My harddrive (SATA) is splitted into three partitions: NTFS for XP, EXT3 en Swap for linux, en I added a primary Fat32 for Mac. But (I read the documentation three times) on install screen I can't find my harddrive or partition. The only thing I see by disk utilities is the installation dvd. How come? Thanks in advance!! citizen.lambda
I have the same problem, I'm using a JaS Intel only PPF1/PPF2 patched (iirc), i"ve checked all my hardware for compatibility... etc. However, my drive is an older ATA, and is not set as primary master (or as anything for that matter) might that be the problem in my case? and in yours? Pasha AML
Try to find another release of Hakintosh, for example JAS10.4.8 - afaik the best and full release on this day. redyoo
That's what I'm using: "Mac OS X 10.4.8 [JaS AMD-Intel-SSE2-SSE3 with PPF1 & PPF2].iso"...Do I not have to finalize my partitions, or something like that? MACinized
not sure if it's with the distro of osx86 installation dvd. u should look for the sata controller in your mobo's bios & try setting it to "ahci" (or to "raid" if it has). caution though. if installation of osx86 proceeds successfully by changing the sata controller, most probably u will no longer be able to boot to your other os(s), which have been installed prior to changing the sata controller. u have to reinstall ur windows &/or linux using "ahci" or "raid" sata controller. Pasha AML
btw, have you selected AHCI mode for your harddrive in bios settings? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/72129-cant-find-harddrive/#findComment-511571 Share on other sites
MACinized
btw, have you selected AHCI mode for your harddrive in bios settings? in my case, ahci mode only works with the osx86 leopard installation. for the osx86 tiger installation, i have to set it to raid. redyoo
What are the riscs if I switch to RAID or AHCI?? Cause I have already installed XP and Linux, and I don't want to mess up my pc. Will these Operating Systems still work? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/72129-cant-find-harddrive/#findComment-512566 Share on other sites

IS there a way they will survive? i have my windows vista ultimate in a pata hdd so it's not affected by changing the sata controller to ahci or raid while i was installing tiger & leopard. but if you only have one sata hdd where u have already installed ur win xp & linux, then most probably you'll mess them up by changing the sata controller. redyoo
Seems like my bios (motherboard ks8-la) doesn't have the function to switch to RAID or AHCI...Or it is locked or somehting. I'm doomed..? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/72129-cant-find-harddrive/#findComment-515915 Share on other sites
