First off, I will explain my system:

  • AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3800+, MMX, 3DNow, ~2.4GHz
  • 2GB RAM
  • One SATA-II Hard Drive 250GB
  • One IDE 160GB internal hard drive (installed on this)
  • One IDE DVD Drive
  • Nvidia GeForce 7600GT graphics card
  • Currently dual-booting Ubuntu and Windows XP via GRUB
  • My motherboard chipset is GeForce 6100
  • My southbridge is nForce 410/430 MCP

Anything else you need to know, just ask.

I installed "Mac OS X 10.4.8 [JaS AMD-Intel-SSE2-SSE3 with PPF1 & PPF2]" the other day on my system it boots into the installer fine and everything installs smoothly.

Once finished I reboot my PC and select the hard drive with mac on. It boots into the grey aple screen with a spinning dot underneath (as though its loading). After 3 or so minutes it will stop spinning and some music will play, but the screen will remain stuck as it was. The only way I can explain the music is like Windows XP first installation music. (Maybe it's a first installation screen where I enter my details etc).

Any help wouild be greatly appreciated. I have spent a very long time in trying to get this system to work. I even bought a new IDE hard drive as my SATA one would not work.

edit: upon research I found the music to be off this: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=t7WEQcROs2Y. Maybe the video is corrupt or my drivers for my graphics card are not installed properly yet.

Thanks in advance,

Mark
