chema
Hi, I'm trying to follow THIS GUIDE. I had the unallocated space, created the partition on the command window, set it to active, rebooted with the dvd in and starts but when the installation asks me which device I want it to install osx in, there's nothing in the list. My specs are: Pentium M 2.00GHz 1gb ram fujitsu 100 gb (5400rpm) chipset intel 915GM Any idea?? Technobob
You need to format the partition to HFS+ when in the install click tools>disk utility then format your partition. Until you do this it will not show up in the installer for selection. stoavio
I too am having the same issue. I successfully created a partition using PartitionMagic 8 but did not set it to active because I don't have a working floppy drive to enter fdisk with. When I enter the OSX Installation, I don't see any volumes to install on. Is it possible the RAID setup I'm trying to install on isn't supported? thanks, stoavio Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/7158-problem-in-installation/#findComment-44625 Share on other sites
chema
Technobob, you got it, I just finished installing it, THANKS!!! The only thing I would need now are drivers for my network card... I have no idea how does the whole driver thing works on mac, anyways, my network chip is a broadcom 570x gigabit (integrated) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/7158-problem-in-installation/#findComment-44660 Share on other sites
itsjake88
I am also following that guide adn I am also having the same problem. But, when I go into the disk utility all I can see is my CD drive. I kinda think I want to abort all of this now but I put the spfdisk exe on a floppy and when i load my computer with the floppy it tells me to take the disk out. So, can either someone tell me how to make my hard drive (its a SATA) visible in the disk utility or can someoen tell me how to get spfdisk working. Thanks... Nesagwa
Im having a problem related to this. When I am in the install process my mouse doesnt work for some reason (its an MS explorer 4.0, the optical kind) so I cant figure out how to get to the drop down menus at the top with the keyboard. Anyone know the shortcut keys to get to that so I can access the disk utility? I'm have the same problem and I think its because OSX's installation doesn't support the sata controller my mobo uses. I have an old 15gb ATA hard drive I'm gonna format and put in my comp and see how OSX installation responds. I'll post results here.
