So I've managed to screw up the MBR on my computer and now i can't get XP to load. Tiger 10.4.8 still loads though (if i boot from my CD drive with the installer disk in it). I don't want to have to format the part of my drive with XP on it for obvious reasons but I can't figure out how to fix it. Is there a way to fix it, or can anyone at least tell me what i did wrong?

In cases anyone wants to know, im using an Asus motherboard P5LD2-VM, with a pentium D 945 processor, with 2 Gigs of ram, and a Radeon X1300 graphics card.

So you can't boot Mac OS only with the install disk, not without and windows xp doesn't work? Through darwin bootloader?

I'm no expert, but you can try booting with a Gparted live cd, or ubuntu, which has Gparted on. There's also UBCD, which is great, but there was another partition/boot manager live cd that was purported to be even better...Can't remember what it was called, something like Magic partition or whatever...

I managed to fix, it...ish (windows is still a bit screwey) i had to repair windows, as well as reformat a third partition i made (somehow) without any formatting. now i jsut have to fix acronis because now it won't recognise that i have any parrtitions even though i do. is there any danger in uninstalling it and then reinstalling it right after, or will it do something like make me restart after uninstall which will probably screw things up again?
