inter981
Hi there, I have installed OSX 10.4.10 on my PC (AMD X2 4600+ Socket 939, 4 Gb RAM DDR400, nVIDIA 7600GT). Everything works perfect, and OsX detects everything fine. But sometimes (i think when i have to use all ram or a big part of it) i get a Kernel panic. may be because the 4 Gb of ram ? (i think 32bit OS systems only can manage 3,25 Gb of RAM, and OsX freezes while passes that line)... I get that kernel panics while: - unzipping big files (more than around 1 Gb) - burning DVDs -Not CDs- on Toast 8 (of course, i loose my dvd media) (i don't get the kernel panic if i burn the media with Disk Utility...) - Optimizing memory with iMemFree (around at 80%) - Any other hard processes... I DON'T GET that Kernel Panic on PhotoShop CS3 applying filters to a 2,50Gb size image... strange, right ? It's slow, but stable... Previosly i had 10.4.6 and 10.4.8 installed with the same problem, so i asume it's not because the installation or a 10.4.10 incompatibility My memory brand is Kingston (4 x 1024Mb) Dual-Channel DDR400 and it works perfect on Windows XP x64 (on standard WinXP i can't see the full size -only 3,25Gb-) What if i install Leopard 10.5 OsX ? will the matter be fixed (bacause the 64bit OS system)? Thankyou VERY much and excuse if my english is not perfect, because i'm from spain...
