Ave,

I was using PureFTPD Manager as the FTP Server on Mac OS X 10.3.9 ... I upgraded to Leopard and now the PureFTPD Manager won't launch.

Does anyone know how to configure or use an FTP Server on Leopard?

It's more similar than you'd think to 10.4. You just turn on File Sharing in the System Prefs "Sharing" pref pane. Then, under options (there's an options button), you can choose AFP, FTP, and/or SMB. The user permissions are the same.

That would work, unfortunately I don't think the built in server has support for encrypted logins, so you'd be sending your password in the clear for all to see. Not good, especially if it's the same as your account login password.

Actually the pure-ftpd server itself still works with Leopard, just the front-end doesn't. If you're not afraid of the terminal, try http://macnetworking.blogspot.com/2007...pd-manager.html

AWESOME. That's what I was looking for. I know that the author of PureFTPD Manager is working on a Leopard Compatible release that should be out soon. Until then, this will work!

Thanks!
