BladeRunner
I use X-Chat Aqua to access the IRC channels and I had also been using the XInfoAqua V7.4 Python plugin to display system information. I found that the script crashes under osx86 10.5 if you attempt to display either OS or Kernel information. By using some print statements I found the reason was that the format of the output from some system calls had changed. While this is my first exposure to Python, I have managed to patch the script to make it function correctly. At least I think it is now working This is a copy of the XInfoAqua output I now receive: Hacintosh CPU: Intel Pentium 4 3.00GHz @ 2.99GHz [SSE3/PAE/HTT] L2 Cache: 1024K FSB: 100MHz RAM: 505.1MB/2.0GB Virtual: 955.09M/2048.00M Disk: 195.88GB/399.96GB Display: NVIDIA GeForce FX 5500 [256 MB/QE/Titan] 1600x1200@75Hz OS: Mac OS X 10.5 (9A581) Kernel: Darwin 9.0.0 Build: i386 Build Date: Tue Oct 9 21:35:55 PDT 2007 The questions are, where should I place it to make it available to those who may want it, and is anyone willing to maintain it for future releases of OS X 10.5? Comments and suggestions welcome. Update-edit Based on comments below, I have attached the updated copy of XinfoAqua to this post. IT-Pro
For starters, you could make it available in this topic by adding it as an attachment. I certainly would appreciate that, cause I'm also using XInfoAqua on Leopard and it's unfortunately not working quite well anymore. I'm looking for a new version/patch indeed. Spaz
Good job. Post the source (as an attachment here). And, as I am the original author of XInfoAqua, I will maintain it :-) Of course...it would help if GMA900 and GMA950 worked....... maybe time will tell...
