Scott V Saunders
Hi, I have finally got the KOTr 10.4.8 AMD version installed on my space IDe hard drive but there are some expected problems. I have the following issues and I am a bit lost as to where to start to resolve. 1 ) The system says that it have found the USB ports on my PC but none of my connected devices register such as the USB Optic Mouse, Ipod, Printer or even USB Reciever for my WiFi. What do I need to do? 2) I have no sound at all. I have the realtek HD audio as far as windows vista goes so how do I get that into Apple OS X 3) My internet is not working as the system cannot detect the attached usb reciever, I have both the BT Voyager 1055 and the Buffelo 125G.. Is there a fix. If someone can help me with these then I would be most grateful. A-dre
Hi, I have installed 10.4.10 tubgirl on my Athlon 64 x2 4200+ on nforce n430 (mcp 61p, azalia audio and integrated LAN). At first boot I got just audio output (with AppleAzaliaAudio.kext) and not working usb and ethernet. To install usb I used PCGenUSBEHC.kext (search on this forum) to get internet working I istall modificated forcedeath.kext (search on this forum). And now they are work as well as posible. I've got iPod and usb printer connected Here is the files -WORKS- the only worst thing I've got -- my video Geforce 8400 GS. I tried all possible ways with existing drivers natit, nvinject, etc dont work... Scott V Saunders
Hi, Thanks for the files, can I just ask how I install them please? I have never done anything like this before. I thought it was just a case of dragging both the kext files into the extensions directory but as nothing has happened then there must be more to it than that. I tell you what is strange, when I click on about my mac, I see that all the usb ports are showing which is great, however none of the devices that I have plugged into then have any power going thought nor does OS X tell me that there is anything like unknown devices etc. Thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/68848-kotr-1048-amd-release-os-x-no-usb-sound-or-internet/#findComment-489530 Share on other sites
A-dre
Ok, Im a newbie like you and all answers I found on this forum. Also there are instructions inside archives. The main way to install kernel extensions as you can see is to put .kext files to /System/Library/Extensions then remove Extensions.mkext and Extensions.kextcache after that I tipe in terminal chown -r root:wheel /System/Library/Extensions/<file>.kext chmod -r 755 /System/Library/Extensions/<file>.kext diskutil repairpermissions / shutdown -r now and after reboot I have kext installed. In case of usb question just install this file PCGenUSBEHC.kext and you'll see properly working ports. P.S. another time type your hardware characteristics. wish you luck.
