I attempted to dual boot Windows XP and OS X, and I resized my SATA 160 Gig HD so that I had 7 gigs of space. I used the 10.4.1 DVD and made the partition by doing this:

Official OSx86 10.4.1 FAQ

__________________________________________

DISKPART> create partition primary id=af

DISKPART> list partition

Partition ### Type Size Offset

------------- ---------------- ------- -------

Partition 1 Primary 148 GB 148 KB

* Partition 2 Unknown 7 GB 7 GB

DISKPART>

exit

__________________________________________

I finally loaded up the DVD install and got to the point where it asked which drive I'd like to install it on. However, there was no drives listed. Under the disk utility, it showed my two partitions. The only option it gave me was to re-partition the whole entire hard-drive which I of course don't want to do.

Any suggestions? :(

No, it says the partition is "Mac OS (Journaled)", but there's no crosshair. I did use id=af when I was in DISKPART so I don't know why it wouldn't be AF.

PartitionMagic says it is in AF format. Maybe I'm just missing something here? I'm using 10.4.1 DVD install by booting in DOS. I made a partition using DiskPart that's primary and is AF. What am I missing, exactly?
