dannyw
Anyone have a suggestion for me on what memory to put in my new setup? Motherboard: Intel D975XBX2 Processor: Intel Q6600 Video: Nvidia 7900GS KO DVD: Pioneer DVR-111D Memory: want 4 gb. Thinking DDR800, need help with finding a SPECIFIC chip. Want something that is great without costing too much. if you have time to list price and or link (newegg or whatever) that would also really help. Thanks Dan Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/66796-what-memory-should-i-buy-with-this-q6600-setup/ Share on other sites
shoarthing
Hi - probably a good idea to start here; then to checkout & compare the firsthand user feedback. FWIW the A-Data stuff looks a very good deal to me. . . this (or similar 1.8v JEDEC-standard PC6400) stuff will give you ample headroom if you should decide to overclock your Q6600 from its default 266MHz [x9=2.4GHz] up to a very likely 333Mhz [x9=3GHz], a reasonably likely 400MHz [x8=3.2GHz], or the wilder extremes of what might be possible with overvolting & really serious cooling ie 400Mhzx9 ie 3.6GHz.
