wparsons
I installed Jas 10.4.8 with PPF1 and 2 for intel via VMWare, and it'll boot just fine in VMWare, but if I try to boot natively it always hangs at the grey screen with the apple logo. I get a crossed out circle, and it fails to do anything beyond that. Hardware: intel c2d 2.4ghz asus P5B-E 2gb PC6400 DDR2 320gb seagate SATAII. I installed it through vmware, using just the one partition on the drive, not the whole disk(like the guides say to). The drive has a 25gb NTFS partition, a 20gb HFS, and a ~220gb EXT2(used to dual boot with linux before trying OSX). I copied chain0 to the root of my C: drive, and edited boot.ini. Darwin loads no problem and starts booting OSX without fail.. Is this related to me using just the one partition in VMWare, and not the whole drive, or is it likely a totally seperate issue?? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.. *edit* - if I boot in verbose mode, it keeps repeating 'waiting for root device'. wparsons
Actually, easy fix.. Switched SATA mode to AHCI in the BIOS and it boots fine(and FAST)..
