I'm trying to install 10.4.8 on my Alienware m5700 with a disk i've tested and used on my amd desktop. Since I know the disk is good I was hoping someone may be able to shed some light on why i'm getting the errors i'm having. My current hardware setup is as follows.

Area-51 M5700

Intel Pentium M770

Intel i915PM Sonoma

2GByte (2x1024MB)PC4200 DDR2 SODIMM

GeForce 6800 Go 256MB

2 x Fujitsu 80GB 5,400RPM

Specifically the error i'm getting is as follows:

ACPI: System State [s0 S3 S4 S5] (S3)

Extension "com.apple.driver.AppleACPIThermal" has no kernal dependency.

Security auditing service present

BSM auditing present

Hi,

This is just a guess (since I'm relatively new with this)....

Maybe you can try using a USB keyboard and mouse instead of a PS/2 kbd/mouse? Or vice versa?

I was reading some threads, trying to get my nVidia graphics working with CI/QE (nVidia Quadro NVS 135M 128MB PCIe, on a Dell Latitude D630.... if anyone has any solutions...), and thought this might be helpful for you:

This USB keyboard/mouse problem is starting to bug me though. Kind of puts a damper on

the whole mobility thing.

Thank you so much!

after testing about 10 different ApplePS2Controller.kext files, I think I've found one that works

about 75% of the time.

It was one of the ones in that second link you gave me. I believe it was this one: http://forum.

Just in case it wasn't, I'll repost the working driver file (fixed keyboard AND trackpad on

dv6119us)
